Karen Conley

Born in Newport Beach and raised in Huntington Beach; I have known the joy of walking on the sand and watching a good sunset all my life.

Not having much money as a child didn’t really matter, as it’s true “The greatest gifts in life are free.” My grandfather built homes in the downtown area of Huntington Beach, and I remember visiting my grandmother with the squeaky sound of an oil well in her backyard. My mother and I enjoyed tomatoes that the farmers left behind, mustard seed grew wild along with numerous strawberry fields full of perfectly ripened fruit to enjoy.

I graduated from Marina High school at the young age of 16 and attended Golden West College to expedite my required curriculum. Working at Bob’s Big Boy in the evenings gave me plenty of time to enjoy coastal activities during the day.

In 1979, I moved to Dana Point, graduated from Saddleback College, and obtained my Real Estate license. My first “real job” was working in a Real Estate office doing property management and then on to selling mobile homes while helping my 84-year-old mentor; Isabel Walbridge. Soon to be known as “The Mobile Home Queen” you had to sell quite a few at $40,000 a sale.

I met my husband at a friend’s wedding in well-known San Juan Capistrano; the home of the Mission San Juan Capistrano and notorious Swallow’s Inn Saloon. We would eventually become “The Sheriff & Miss Fiesta” in the world’s largest non-motorized parade held every Swallow’s Day in March.

We started our family, we moved to San Clemente only a few miles down the road. San Clemente reminded me of a well-remembered town of Mayberry in “The Andy Griffin Show” that I enjoyed watching as a small child. Both my husband and I were very involved in the community serving our church; Our Lady of Fatima, serving the school PTA, my husband; Tim, as the Boy Scout Leader, and I as the Girl Scout leader, we had a ball.

I earned my Broker’s license while working downtown on Avenida Del Mar opened a property management division of my company and most recently received the national Real Estate Investment & Commercial Advisor designation. My daughter; a graduate of the California State University of Fullerton, she obtained her Real Estate license in 2015. Her degree in Communicates paved her way to managing a multimillion-dollar corporation as well as helping mom from time to time. My son became a plumbing contractor and works in the property management division of our company. It all starts with you, we listen first, then ask questions.
